The Slice Carbon Comp Series has become an all-out strapless freestyle machine. The versatility for small wave riding is still very much there since it’s part of all F-ONE product DNA, but  the design parameters of the “carbon comp series” have been pushed significantly towards competition strapless freestyle under the close monitoring of Mitu Monteiro and Camille Delannoy who have tested and proven this shape on the world tour. 

EVOLUTION

This year we have kept the same parallel outline but with a direct transition to the tail to get an easier pop.
The straighter rocker line offers a faster straight-line speed to send more energy into the pop. The kick in the tail remains unchanged to keep the same ease when rocking the board with the back foot during the pop. 
The deeper central channel on the bottom, which also features a central V channels the flow much better. This results in a better control before sending the jump and smoother, safer landings.
We have reduced the thickness in order to improve control at all times and benefit from a lighter weight. 

ON THE WATER

The parallel rails and deep channel provide a smooth ride with a lot of control. The grip when edging upwind or before the pop is first class and creates a lot of possibilities during the session.

The board is fast with sharp acceleration. It’s easy to generate some speed before loading up for a trick and reach higher amplitude. The distinct kick on the tail rocker line makes the pop really intuitive as the board rocks easily around this pivot point. 

In the air, the board sticks to the feet with a lot of control thanks to the lightweight, compact shape and balanced outline.
Landings are ultra smooth and safe thanks to the deep central channel that features sharp lines and a central V line. The pulled-up nose further helps you to stick sketchy landings. 

In small or soft wave riding conditions, the board is lighting fast, keeping the momentum and allowing for some sharp turns and airs despite the poor conditions. 

CONSTRUCTION

The SLICE CARBON COMP SERIES uses the HD foam carbon construction with two deck stringers to combine durability and super lightweight that are needed at competition level. 

The deck stringers strengthen the deck without adding stiffness to the board. The carbon is used with a sandwich construction around a structural foam core to reach the best mechanical properties. 

Equipped with a large pad to care for a variety of stances, the board comes with a set of F-ONE FLOW fins. It is ready to fulfil the most demanding riders and truly lives to all expectations as the ultimate strapless freestyle board.

The introduction of this construction has marked a major change into the F-ONE surfboard range and especially on our three key products.

To face the ever higher constrains applied by the riders on their surfkites F-ONE has engineered a new foam composite construction with optimized flex for maximum reliability, comfort and manoeuvrability. The mechanical characteristics achieved by this construction provide a lighter weight and a perfect surfboard feel.

As the strapless discipline develops and grows, so does the demads it puts on the boards

With higher jumps and tougher landings, the stresses applied to the boards have migrate towards the rails and we have reinforced some of our constructions with lateral deck stringers to make the boards more robust in these areas. These stringers are not full depth to keep the flex and heel of the board.

RTM technology stands for RESIN TRANSFER MOLDING. This process uses a closed mold to produce accurate composite parts.

The resin is injected in the mold after it is closed, with the dry fiber having been placed inside beforehand. The closed mold injection allows for great shape accuracy and the epoxy resin used make the fins stronger and more responsive providing a sharper feel on the water.
